WELL! they came in today, in a big damn box, for two small things.......
Because I only have bold colours, I couldn't really make any good sprites but I did sort of custom my own triforce one and just did a green Mario shell to practise out the ironing. With the ironing, do you use a lower setting for longer because my pieces have lost their shine of the beads and even gone a bit crusty, I may of burnt them? They haven't lost any colour though. Of course I used the paper to, and not wax paper which I was told to never use

hi. i recommend using a very hot iron and just press on certain areas for a few seconds at a time,but just be careful that this doesn't include your pegboard!!! it helps if you look at the beads under the paper and if they sort of look a bit wet,then you know they've fused. im not an expert but this usually works for me!

i was allways under the impressing you only iron one side, but i was just told to iron both, am i meant to iron one or both sides?

I know some people don't especially if they're framing them, however, ironing both sides definitely makes them stronger. Some people do a light ironing on the side that is going to show and then iron the crap out of the back to ensure they are all fused properly.

I always iron both sides. As previously stated, it makes it stronger and I like how more color comes out when ironed for longer. I also try to not use too high of a heat just so that I can have more control over the process and to make sure that one section doesn't get more heat than another. For all my projects, especially the large ones, I use books on top of the heated sections to avoid warping during the cooling process. Hope this helps

I know this was asked awhile ago but I wanted to share my method for creating patterns from sprites (i use it for perler stuff and cross stitching)
This sounds complicated but I promise it's ridiculously easy
I use Gimp (which is free) and paste the pic i am using.
I zoom in to about 400%
Under the "view" menu I choose "show grid"
Under the "image" menu I choose "configure grid" and set it to 1x1
voila - instead grid for easy counting

To create a pattern from something else, I just adjust the grid size to whatever is appropriate and then color each square whatever it's main color is. It's a handy, easy way to make patterns.
