Just wanted to say thanks to Celes_Lionheart for her links. I've been searching the Internet and my local bookstore and only got explanations I couldn't understand. Try learning crochet from drawings and you'll understand how happy I was to find a video that good.
THANK YOU SO MUCH !!

Re: Crochet/amigurumi
Hihi!
For those working on Granny Square creations-- I would recommend the 'join as you go method.' I found it really hard as I was learning to sew the completed squares together, but it seems a million times easier to just hook them in as you make them! (Plus you get to see the outcome of your hard work faster!) Here's a site that details this technique: http://www.yarncat.com/JoinAsYouCrochetGS.html
Also- for everyone interesting in Amigurumi I would recommend using the Human Amigurimi patterns from the GeekCentralStation site to start. They're really quick and pretty easy to understand. http://geekcentralstation.blogspot.com/ ... golas.html
If anyone wants to do a square swap someday, let me know!

Re: Crochet/amigurumi
There are stacks of amigurumi patterns on the web and it's pretty easy to adapt them to be different characters.
I usually just make a series of tubes, ovoids and spheres and sew them all together.

Re: Crochet/amigurumi
I have trouble branching out into making my own patterns because I don't really know how to change shapes/sizes of things. Do you know of any site/book that teaches the fundamentals of tube/ovoid/sphere construction?Meowgan wrote:There are stacks of amigurumi patterns on the web and it's pretty easy to adapt them to be different characters.

Re: Crochet/amigurumi
I did an Amigurumi Masterclass with Nicki Trench, the author of 'Super Cute Crochet: Make Your Own Amigurumi Family'. I haven't got time to write a good tutorial at the moment but here's the link to the book if anyone's interested, it covers basic crochet techniques as well as all the essential Amigurumi shapes. I'd also be happy to answer any Amigurumi related questions so feel free to send me a message
