Questions on Cross Stitch Kits

I bought this cross stitch kit about month online :yahoo: . I saw a fabric that has printed ink of cross stitch pattern and it is graphed. (don't know how to explain. here is the photo of the fabric). I look at the instruction but there is no explanation about this. I never done this before. I'm use to buy a cross stitch kit that has nothing on the fabric. These are my questions:
1. do you cross stitch that fabric?
2. am I supposed to wash it before I started it or reversed?
3. if yes, will it come off once I washed?
4. will it printed ink will stain the thread and change the color threads?

sorry for the questions. any recommendations?

My initial thought is that this may be a stamped cross stitch project, which would have you stitching on the fabric, right on top of the pattern. But that's just a guess...hopefully someone else has run across this! Good luck!

(I've never done a stamped cross stitch project, so I have no real answers!)

that to me looks like a stamped cross stitch. In theory, once you stitch it, you shouldn't see the color of the fabrics underneath. From what I see, as I only know Japanese and not Chinese, I can see the kanji of water in there. What I'm assuming is that the ink is water soluble and should disappear after doing it.

I just looked this up as well, yes. they do wash out with water. They will not stain the thread. The person I read recommends ivory dish soap to wash the piece and then iron dry as you would any other piece, so with a damp cloth protecting the project.
