Wash out pen won't wash out!

I know there's a stain removal guide, but this seems to be a different kind of ink. My "wash-out" fabric pen has gone all brown on my nice white fabric. The water I used to wash was luke warm, not cold...I think that might have been it...
I haven't ironed it yet. Does anyone one think it can be salvaged? This project is so important, and I really don't have time to redo it all
EDIT: I've searched and searched, and come up with soaking it in a water/vinegar mixture. I have time to wait since I don't get back to the states till the 3rd o buy any. Thoughts?

Ugh, this is why I never use "wash-out" pens. Too many of them just don't. Or they do and then show back up ages later.
What is the exact brand pen you used? Any solution is going to really depend on what type of ink was used and how its supposed to "go away", although in my experience there's often not really any good solution.

I'm not sure what the brand of marker it is. I got it from ac Moore, and after I yelled at it, it went AWOL.
However, I must say that a1:1vinegar water mixture worked like a charm!! Apparently it balances the pH of the chemical in wash out markers and allows the stain to be lifted out.

Good! I'm glad. So many of these things leave behind chemicals that keep showing up over time that I've just found it easier to not use them.

The 1:1 vinegar solution really works!

What do you suggest instead of the wash out pen? I've always stitched every 10 counts, but I hate doing it. I was thinking to use the wash out pen, but I am still meeh

about it.

You could use pencil if you'd rather draw them than stitch them. It's more easily washed out, doesn't leave a residue when it washes. Plus it's cheap and easy to find.
I still use thread, but I don't block out every 10 stitches.

Awesome! I was afraid the pencil would leave a shadow! Thanks a lot!

You don't want it to be extremely hard pencil lines. Very light and thin.
