When I made the Journey sampler band I submitted to April 2013's stitch-a-long I also made other Journey "stitching fragments" that I felt needed to be used for something... greater.
This is still a work in progress. Since I hand drew everything (no sprites!) I'm uploading a pretty crappy preview image.
Any thought or suggestions from the crowd? My one wish is to include a jellyfish in there but I don't think they would pixelate very well...

Reserved. (because I intend to upload the finished pattern in the same thread) :)

Lovely! Although I'm not a fan of the white ones floating in the air. Perhaps one should be red and one white on the ground? Also perhaps the 'heart square' should be a golden color on the white pattern?
I really dig the background.

I wanted to have a sense of progression from top to bottom, that semi mimicked the game's story (that's why the tall white wanderers are above the small red ones). I have another fragment of a front facing white wander with his robe-wings spread, but I am not happy with it. It looks like a messed up owl :-\
Now that I'm looking at it anew I have a couple of things I do plan to change.
1. the black glyphs on top have to go. They're too strong.
2. add a border. I have a couple of ideas for this (more glyphs or guardians)

*slobber slobber slobber*
OK, firstly, this is awesome so far. I love how the red cloaks are tooting at each other. I also like the tall ones at the top, although they do feel a bit floaty, but I could live with that.
I do agree about the black glyphs up top, although maybe if they were changed to something light and soft (like a 712) or similar they might stand out without being harsh. There definitely needs to be glyphs somewhere.
Have you also thought about adding the flower in the desert?
I will have a think about what else could help while I slobber.

Oh don't worry, I'll make sure there are glyphs around ;)
Hrm adding the flower...The flower was an easter-egg and not really related to the rest of the game. I think I would have to increase the overall size of the piece if I wanted to include it as well.
I'm thinking there should be some star up on top with the floaters...

That's true, but I thought it might have made an interesting addition colour-wise. Just a thought, though!
I can't think of anything else that is relatively small and would fit right now, so I will just continue with my slobbering.

Here's the latest update. I'm moving in less than a month so this isn't going to be finished soon :/ I'm only working on this when I need an escape from homework and packing.
- red robes have better colors and more detail
- sand/mountain color changes
- addition of broken pillars, scarf fragments and clouds
- other small changes

To-do
- get (better) images of the guardians and the FMV "tablet screens" with them.
- make the white wanders less "floaty"

new preview - found someone's amazing work on DA that gave me the needed references to get this far.
I'm not sure the border should be done at the same scale as the rest of the image - maybe it would work better as 1:1 stitches on 28 count? I also took out most of the glyphs, any ideas and where, or if they should be incorporated?
Lastly, which border on the red wander's robes do you like better, left or right?

Definitely like the second one. The colors blending up is much better now. Not sure where the extra icons should go, but it looks good now. Not sure I'd add much more to it. The border is nice though. I think I like the right side robes better.
