Modesto CA 8bit Art Show June 2011! *Update!

Hi,
This is Matt. I would like to know if there's any artists on this board who reside in California; more specifically the Central Valley and Northern California. The reason I ask is not out of curiosity, but rather to make connections for an art show and concert.

The big thing I want to do is hold a D.I.Y. 8bit art show in my house. So the artists will have to be close enough to travel to Modesto, CA. This is something, I believe that the Central Valley needs. I've been asking around town and people are all accepting and excited about the idea. My vision is to have perler bead artists, cross stitch, paper artists, etc bring their pieces/projects and put them on display like an art gallery and you'll be encouraged to sell them. I'm also looking for local chiptune musicians to come play in my backyard. It will be a little big event of everything 8bit. I'll be displaying my LEGO sculptures too.

I'm serious about this and I would want to get this up and running sometime in the early fall of this year. You can contact me through here or my personal e-mail:

Thanks,
I hope to meet some cool people.

Aw sweet! I'm from Fresno myself, but not living there right now. I've got a lot of video gaming friends in the Valley and up to Sacramento; I'll mention it to them.

@Asinine
That would be great if you could pass this info on to your friends. I'd really appreciate it. I've seen a couple of artists that say they live in Sacramento but I haven't contacted them yet, I wonder if they're the same people you know. Regardless, any help is appreciated. Thanks.

@johloh
Sorry about that, but maybe someone will do the same thing I'm doing where you live. :)

So, I sent a message out to five of my FB friends who I thought would be most interested in the option.

None have replied. But in their defense, they haven't posted any FB activity that I've seen since.

I linked them here so unless I get word from them, I believe I may have reached the end of my usefulness.

No prob. Only one's responded with a "I'm probably too busy". Good luck... although if it happens next year in March/April, I should be in the area!

Thanks again. I'll have to wait and see if this show is a success or not. Hopefully it is, so I can put it on more than once a year and especially during spring/summer. And it would be awesome if you were involved. I love your Mega Man vs. Elec Man piece.

I'll be updating this thread as the I figure out this whole thing. Stay tuned.
