Re: Twitch.TV Streaming CrossStitch
*blows horn* People of Sprite Stitch!
As, Siri has said previously, we are trying to raise our creative stitchers (and streamers)! I started back in November and have gotten positive feedback, as well as gained much progress on my WIPs. Even if you're unsure of streaming (which is understandable), you should check us out. There are now almost 20 stitchers which is awesome! Plus, it would be wonderful to see other projects that everyone is working on. And, if you don't only want to stitch, there are other kinds of creativity that can be done! Hope to see you there
Let us know if you have any questions

That's ok! You can try baby steps. Come hang out in some of our chats while we're streaming. Then work up. Some have face cams, but you don't have to if that's what you're worried about. And a lot of the time, chat can contribute to conversation, and sometimes they're super quiet. I think Siri has a website of all the known cross stitchers somewhere if you want that. I would love to see you there! And ask questions if you need anything. I have a quite a few lurkers that don't say anything a lot of the time.Jennuh wrote:Oh man I so wanna do this but I'm so shy.

What shiek said!
You likely won't get a ton of people when you first start, so it's okay to be shy. As she said, you don't have to start with a facecam either, that can be scary for a lot of people, and that's fine. Plenty of large streamers don't use a cam at all!
The Twitch Creative category is super friendly, and you can get to know them by hanging out in other people's streams for a while first. There's a list of all the Cross Stitch streams I know of here:
http://twitchstitch.com/
And you're not limited to cross Stitch, of course.
If none of them are online at the time you read this, check out the creative category in general and see what kinds of things people stream, 'lurk' in a channel (you don't have to chat if you don't want to) and get to know the community.

To be honest, Creative gets a lot of lurky viewers, because watching people create often makes you want to do some creating of your own. And it's tough to chat while also stitching or otherwise crafting.
I'll be the first to admit I lurk in Shiek's channel while working on my own projects all the time.

Guys! I finally did it! Struggling with a crappy webcam and only willing to do non-face cam and mic-muted broadcasts. Not sure how to add some bg music to my stream but I was on for a few minutes today testing it out. Hoping to spruce up my page soon!

I was doing the steps for the open broadcast software. I was doing the source part but not sure if doing it right. when I click on start stream button it says could not initialize Direct x 10 on Intel (r) Q35 Express Chipset Family. I am using windows 10. Do I need to upgrade something. I don't think I might have done all the steps for source caption.

I'm not 100% about this since I just started myself and am still figuring things out but if you are using OBS you might just need to install the Direct X onto your computer. It should have prompted you to install it when you tried to install OBS.deborah wrote:I was doing the steps for the open broadcast software. Re: Twitch.TV Streaming CrossStitch
Wow. Looking back on this post from late last year when I could barely name 6 crossstitch streamers.
There are now over 60 that I know of. Yes, SIXTY who have live streamed their cross stitching at least once.
We now have our own hashtag on Twitch and I've seen 8+ live at one time.
If you're curious at all, keep an eye on this link and find someone live sometime. If they seem quiet at first, say something in chat. Ask them about their project. Make their day.

Noone live right now? Try Perlers:

Or Crochet:
https://www.twitch.tv/directory/game/Creative/crochet
Or just go explore Creative in general:

Something for everyone. :3
