I got an old Jack Daniels bottle I put mine in, kinda like that colored sand in a bottle stuff they have, so I guess it will be pretty when its full.......I think you can see it in one of my pics.

I use a tiny mason jar. When it gets full, I mush it down so that it's super compact and then I keep adding more threads. When it's completely full (no more room even after mashing) I'm going to cap it and display it. It looks like a weird camouflage when it's smooshed down really tightly. I do the same with my yarn tails and a bigger jar.

this is a fun thread :) no pun intended :)

I used to keep em in one compartment in my box and when it got full tossed em. I try to not leave them laying around as to not bother the future hubby. i know it drives me NUTSSSS picking up his guitar picks day after day so i wouldn't want him to get driven nuts by my thread. sometimes if i see he's left an empty smoke pack ill cram em in there....lately tho, since reading this post i found a small jar to put them in. i love to see the colors pile up and its pretty. once the jar is full or project is done i will probably take them out for the birds (thanks to you above for that idea)!

After hearing the liquor bottle idea all over here I'm totally gonna start doing this. I think I'm going to buy a bottle of Skull vodka just for the purpose! It'll be an amazing display piece when it's done.

Right now since I'm mostly working on cross stitch kits, I tend to keep the scraps in a box and the longer strands organized in a box. I'm thinking when I have enough I might try and do a color wheel using the leftovers.

I keep the longer strands on the cards with the numbers to use in other projects

I saw somewhere online a long whilst ago someone make a scarf out of their left over short bits by stitching them tomloght weight fabrics. Some of these look good to

Indeed . . . I may have to try this, but I also really want a skull bottle filled with thread. Guess I'm just going to have to stitch some more. oh well ;D

I tend to keep short pieces of thread. If I'm working on a mini pattern which has, say, different coloured flowers, then I'll probably use up the scraps I have as the colour of the flowers probably doesn't matter. :nod
