Re: Introductions
Hello fellow stitchers!
So I've been lurking and ogling on this forum for a couple weeks, and I figured it would only be right to join. So here I am!
I'm Amanda, I live in Austin, TX, and I work from home, so that means I can pretty much do what I want, whenever I want, and usually in my pajamas.
I was in a real creative funk for a long time and had a hard time getting back into my incomplete projects. I knew I had to do something with my hands, and after seeing a pattern for "Damn it feels good to be a gangsta' all grandma-ish, I knew I wanted to try cross stitchin'.
So, I've been doing this religiously for a week. I got my supplies, picked a (what I think would be) a beginner's pattern, read lots of tips and tricks, and now I'm over halfway done! I've already gotten starry eyes on other patterns I want to do.
Anyhoo, there's my lil intro, happy to meet you all!

Re: Introductions
Hi all,
My name is Michelle and I'm from The Netherlands. When I was looking for information about cross stitching I ended up here. Since then, I have been reading ALOT of guides and I'm about to get my first supplies. I used to craft things when I was younger and I want to pick that up again.
Well.. that's about it I guess ^^

Re: Introductions
Well hello! My name is Emily. I have been creeping around on the forums for months now (I blame Digitlanalog, she sent me to the blog one day and I have been hooked ever since!) I just figure it is about time that I get over being shy and actually post something on here since I read so much about all of you.
I am originally from Ohio but I recently moved to Wisconsin. I like to think I was born and raised a crafter. My mom started us off early teaching us how to cross stitch and crochet and draw and paint and all the good stuff. Currently I spend most of my crafting time quilting, but I also cross stitch and play around with perler beads. I love to learn new skills and I have so much fun reading about all the really cool things you guys come up with!

Re: Introductions
Hey all.
My name is Amy (but feel free to call me Alondira as well, I answer to both). I am from a little town just outside of Cambridge in England.
I have been a lurker on here for a while as a lot of people seem to be. I have been cross stitching for around 20 years (I was about 6 when I picked it up).
Anyway, I have always put it down and picked it back up again as most people seem to do. Recently I have picked it all up again (a 4 month summer holiday away from uni).
-Studying Archaeology and Landscape history with a background based in forensic sciences (just if anyone was interested)-
Along with cross stitching, I can sew clothing (I used to attend the MCM expo so I made all of my cosplays for that), knit and vaguely crochet. I am also a huge gamer (mostly an RPG background-Final Fantasy is the biggest gaming influence I can think about). I discovered this site when researching different project ideas, I found the Serenity ship from Firefly on here, and just stuck around. I have many plans for different patterns and projects that need to be completed.
Currently I am working on the Celtic FC emblem for my brothers Christmas present, after that we shall see what happens (what thread I currently have and size of aida available). I am thinking of the Sophie and Howl cross stitch that I found on here =)

Re: Introductions
Welcome Amy! Your degree sounds fascinating! The Sophie and Howl pattern is gorgeous and I highly recommend it. It's in my pile-to-stitch also, but I've seen others complete it and it turns into an awesome finished product!
