Hey everyone, my name's Nikki. I'm 22 and I live in Australia. Been x stitching a couple of years now...but I only got started because I found a Tinkerbell one. Now I'm obsessed! Most people I know find it hard to believe I like stitching, because I don't have much patience, but I find it really relaxing.

I'm so glad I found this site. I love videogames, so it's awesome to be able to stitch my fave characters like Link...and my friends' favourite characters, too...and my sisters' fave characters...I actually plan to start that massive Pokemon thing soon.

So yeah, that's me. :D

Hi!
I just realized that there was an intro thread, so I figured I'd jump on board. I'm Deb and I only started x stitching a couple months ago.

Why? I blame facebook. I started this stupid app on facebook that clocked how many hours you were on facebook a week...and, well, it was more than a part time job...so I decided that I needed a hobby that didn't involve the internet or a screen in front of me. So what did I do? I used the internet to find a hobby I liked, found a ton of sprites, printed them all out, bought almost $200 worth of floss/aida/needles/hoop and went at it. :)

Sprites that I want to stitch: I love Final Fantasy and Zelda, so I'll do anything from those. I'm a huge Sailor Moon fan (even after all these years...wow. I blame the musicals...if anyone out there even knows what the sera myus are...). My favorite game of all time though is Monkey Island and I'm currently working on a series of all the characters. I also have a bunch of anime characters I want to try...from Utena, Rayearth, Evangelion, FMA and so on.

Oh..and I loooove all you perler beaders out there. I don't have the money to spend on getting myself beads nor the table space to create them, but that is sooo the next hobby when I get a chance! Your stuff looks so much fun!

I guess that's it! See ya on the boards :)

Hi all!

Just realized there was an intro thread, despite having already posted pics elsewhere of my latest cross-stitch sprites (on dishtowels and hand towels). I've been cross-stitching since I was about 6 - my first project was a flower off the side of a Whitman's Sampler box of chocolates using scrap fabric and thread from Grandma's supplies. I've now inherited a significant amount of her materials through my mother, who is also a heavy stitching enthusiast. Trying to color match the multiple tins of thread remnants to current projects is a challenge, and often a delightful historical romp ($0.10/skein?!).

I've also done some patterning, including a prayer my aunt wanted that her pastor uses done against a shaded cross background with a floral border, and a poem written by a friend of mine with fanciful illustrations that I did up for some friends when their child was born. This stitching up sprites is a delightfully simple project in comparison! (Until you start getting into projects like the Epic Pokemon - eep!).

I'm a stay-at-home mom of a four year old living in the Los Angeles area. The hubby also cross stitches (though has a tendency to start more than he finishes... but this is true for all of his hobbies). My recent foray into sprites has gotten my boyfriend, the true gamer, interested in cross-stitching as well. He just finished his first project ("Ceci n'est pas une pipe") and is eager to do more, of his own design/adaptation. He finds that cross stitch is wonderfully suited to his particular forms of compulsive behavior. I knew it would be... ;)

My biggest problem at this point is figuring out where to put the next finished project! Since my circle of friends were so eager to own some of my towels, I figured I might keep my habit running by posting them up on Etsy. I get an excuse to stitch, and if I'm lucky, enough funds to buy more supplies. We'll see how that goes. :) Thanks to everyone for such a lively and encouraging place!

Hello everyone! I just found this website today, but I've been cross-stitching for about 3 years. I'm 19 and a freshman in college [soon to be sophomore, yay!!] and I am usually cross-stitching or knitting in my spare time.
I love everyone's patterns and hope to use them someday!! Sadly, I don't have any video-game related cross-stitch projects at the moment, as I usually only buy patterns, and they're not video-game friendly. I do have a software program for Windows that I use when I'm at home, but the patterns end up being way- WAY too big for me to feel like messing with...
Also, can anyone recommend a good stitching software for Mac? I can't use what everyone else does because my only source for a computer away from home is my Mac... :hmm:
I hope to get to know you all soon!

Hej = Hello
I am jill, from Denmark, I embroidered on and off for a long time now and have less than a half years ago discovered the joy and make beads again. I have often sought inspiration from the blog and then I thought why not join the forum.
so here I am :D

Hi
one of my friends makes gaming bookmarks so I was excited when I found a site for it! I ordered my first set of bookmarks and hope to get started cross-stiching soon! I'm a big pokemon/mario fan and hope to make a couple FF bookmarks for my boyfriend and this is really an awesome resource.

Hi there! I've been cross-stitching off and on for over 10 years now, but started my first plastic canvas when I was 8 or so. I've visited the Sprite Stitch blog and forums practically since they were first created, but have only recently had time to start stitching again (I'm graduating from pharmacy school after 4 long years on Monday - :yahoo: )

I'm the type of person who often starts big projects and never quite finishes them, so small things like magnets and bookmarks are my most productive pieces. I've only done a little bit of gaming art so far (including some perler), but I often work off of my own patterns that I've modified from existing sprites or patterns. Unfortunately I usually give away most things I make before taking pictures, but I'm hoping to get better about that. I should have some things to post soon!

Hi Everyone!

I found this website when looking for images for a school project, and I nearly exploded when I saw the content. I love games, I love art, what more could I ask for?

I'm an artist/game design student with a bit of ADD, a bit of OCD, and a whole lot of passion. I've skipped over a lot of crafts, including sewing, quilting, beading, stitching, and I can't wait to apply awesome video games to all of them. Don't ask me why I didn't think of doing this sooner >.>.

I've been obsessing over the site for the past few days, and I almost have a batch of patterns to post up already! I'm so excited! When the weekend hits, I'm going to raid my local craft store. :yahoo:
