Mario DS Pattern PLEAAASE HELP! :) x

Post by victoriaskywalker »

Once again I'm having trouble with KG CHART and PC Stitch Pro.
If anyone could help me it'd be excellent. I didn't get many replys to my last request so it's a game of chance. BUT!

I'll show you all, like pictures of what I've been trying and where I'm having problems okay?

Firstly there are a few of the DS Sprites I'm interested in doing. There's loads, But these are just a couple:

The problems I'm having though is when I try to import the image into KG CHART it comes out like this
This is like very little colours and shows little to none detail. Where as i want several colours, not to many to show the subtle differences in the colour on his skin, hat and dungaree's as well as else where.:

But you see, I tried this Master Cheif sprite that i found in the Sprite Stitch Forum:

And when I imported this image into KG Chart it came out perfect like this. Is this because it has little to none variation in colour?:

Can someone explain to me how to make the sprites work? I got the Mario ones from http://www.spriters-resource.com.
I know how to get the imaged pixelated through paint. Zooming in several times and show grid. But unfortunately it's far too big and I'm wanting the perfect colours for my projects. This is why i turned to PC stitch Pro and also KG CHART. Because they provide the colour pallete when you get your image perfectly imported. Is it alot easier than i think? PLEASE HELPP

If someone could help me out- It would be greatly appreciated :)! x

You do have to sort the images out most of the time. Even on programs that have been bought. You do need to go through them with a fine tooth comb and adjust them. Its not as easy as importing and Ta Dar!!! Rarely that happens!! I must admit there are more advantages to using PC stitch. There's a "view picture" bit that shows you the picture you're doing without the grid and you can change the pixels to show virtual stitches/ colour and symbols or black and white symbols.
You get what you pay for. I've only got the basic pc stitch though.
I recommend you have the original image on one side of the screen and the program on the other so you can see what your doing. You can zoom in then and check the areas your working on. These things do take time. Keep plugging at it and it will come right. I can't do that screen shot thing that you've done.
I do think that what you have done so far is good. Some small tweaks will be all you need.
