Sprite Stitch Board!

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to help me out with getting this pattern figured out. I'm not all that great at image editing, which is probably why I'm having trouble with it, even though I've tried following the directions that were posted elsewhere on this site. I would really like to stitch this up as a Christmas present for my boyfriend. Any help would be appreciated! My only color preference is that I'd like to keep it under 50 colors if possible, as for size, whatever you can work out would be great.

Let me know if this works. It's 16 colors and if done on 18 count it would be 24 by 28 inches. If you need me to scale down the size let me know.
