Pattern request (VERY BIG)
Hi, I wanted to request a pattern for this image, its very big, its my first time posting, hope someone can help. Tried with a program but the confetti was heavy and had questionable colour choices.
Stitch Count 275x410
Amount of colours: 73 (DMC)

Re: Pattern request (VERY BIG)
before I tackle this, can I just ask a few things?
- is it only available as a jpg?
- how ok would you be with a more simplified background?
- would 275x489 be alright as a size (to keep the same aspect ratio as the original)?
- what size aida would you be working on?
- and is 73 colours your max?

EDIT: I've just seen the image on a diamond painting website and the colours in the key mostly match DMC colours. When you say you bought the image, did you buy a diamond painting chart or just an image?
- and is 73 colours your max?
1. its only avaible as jpg
2. No, i would like the exact same
3. If you think is better, then ok. I would actually prefer if the image was cropped for it to be smaller. It super big, what do you think?
4. 10 count aida
5. Sorry, i was mistaken. I wanted it to be 78 colors .Its because the diamond painting version uses 78 colors, that is why I choose that number. I attached the lists of the colors used in the diamond painting. 6011,6012,6031, dont exist in DMC. I though of replacing 6031 with 3721 and dont mind the Z and the L before the numbers, those are special diamonds.
I have tried creating a chart with the computer but it seems super pixelated and has odd colors. not defined like the diamond painting :c

Maybe cropped like any of these two? Which would be the size of these?

Re: Pattern request (VERY BIG)
Hi Sami, sorry for the delay!
I've been having a play around with the image and trying different things to see if I can get a nice pattern for you! here's what I've come up with based on the image you posted:
Size in stitches: 234x385 (used the cropped image)
Colours: 82
Because it has so many more than the diamond art which has been really simplified, it was hard to reduce the colours right down without losing some of the details that make it nice! If 82 is too many I can give it another go and see where I can combine more colours, so just let me know! Also, ignore some of the colours on the display, as the programs aren't always accurate to the actual thread colours and they should be ok in real life!
Please let me know what format you would like the file - I have made it in PCStitch so I can give you the .pat file or I can also do colour and black & white PDFs
ALSO! just for fun I tried to make a pattern based on the diamond art version, just to see how it would turn out:
Size in stitches: 209x358
Colours: 78 (but they aren't quite the same as the diamond art colours, I just let my program do what it wanted!)

Re: Pattern request (VERY BIG)
Oh I'm happy you like them!
Sometimes I'll redraw an entire image by hand, and I thought I might have to do that for the diamond art one but I found a really detailed picture, counted the diamonds along one edge and put that in PCStitch as the width and it did the rest! The colours could do with work on that one, though, as I only did that to see what would happen
Anyway, you're welcome to the .pats for both, feel free to change things as you want!
Pattern for Summer Solstice image: Fun Pattern for the diamond version:
I use a bunch of tricks in photoshop including a useful little option called "Save for Web and Devices" which really helps in resizing and colour reduction - great when you are working with big busy jpgs that need to be scaled down!
