Snoopy for a wedding pillow

Post by tiiiiii_85 »

Hello everybody!
My sister is going to get married next June and I would like to make a pillow for her and my brother in law. She loves Snoopy and I've found a really nice and cute picture of him hugging a heart.
I would like to make a pillow cover 50cmx50cm, so the picture should fit nicely in these dimensions, adding the names and the date around it. I would work on 14 counts and the number of colors doesn't matter (well it's a pretty basic drawing so... ).
Thank you for your help!

well. I gave it a shot. take a look and see what you think. It used DMC 349 for the red but just use what red you would want. It is at this size 219 x 252 which is 15.64 inches by 18 inches on 14 ct. Sooooo.....I think thats under 50cm.

The pattern is awesome!! Thanks a lot!! :D

I have only one question. Since I am new on making patterns I am not sure about the size, because in the pattern it says
Stitch Count: 219w x 252h
Finished Size: 61.80 cm x 71.12 cm (18 ct./inch)
While it shoud be less. Is it because in the pattern it counts 18ct instead of 14? I just need to be sure about the size.

the finished size the chart gives is wrong. easy way to figure out how big it will be is take your size in stitches and divide by the count of the material you are using

219 stitches / 14 stitches per inch = 15.6 inches (or 39.7 cm)

so the pattern is smaller than 50x50cm

yeah, the program is weird like that, I just did like what they said, and divide the stitches buy the cloth count. Even if you put like 100000000 ct it will still come out the same, so I just ignore all the other stuff but the pattern and the color table.

Thank you very much for the explanation! It looks perfect for my idea!
Now I have to find a nice red. Do you have any suggestions? I was thinking to go for something glitter.

I love using DMC 666...... ..... but really it is a good red, Its a brighter dark red....if that makes any sense to you. Kinda like the classic red lipstick you always see in movies, if someone says red, that color is what I think of. I don't know much about the other flosses like the Light Effects, Metallic, Ect.... But you could picks some up, its probably like 60 cents or something, and do a test square on some scrape.

E185 is the DMC Light Effects color of red that I think would look good.

After checking some colours, I have to agree with Batboard, the red 666 is the nicest one. Maybe I can for some glittery colour with the names!
Now it's time to start and buy some white...I will need a lot. I will post my progress while working on it. :)
