Perler Beads Various Patterns Wanted

Post by PMcOuntry »

Hi, I'm new, so I hope I'm doing this right!

My nephews are coming to visit in a few days and they love Pokemon, Sonic, and Mario.

I saw pictures of finished projects but I'm not sure where to look for patterns for Perler Beads. I've seen some amazing pics but they are never large enough to use as a pattern.

I would love to find some smaller patterns for Pokemon (any), Sonic, and Mario (any). Nothing huge, at the largest maybe 2 - 4 boards?

Also, any tips or hints on how I could use pictures to create my own (and share of course) would be nice.

One last request, if anyone has a nice Eeyore perler beads pattern, I would love ya forever!

Any advice or sites would be helpful too, thank you!

How big is a perler bead board? How many beads fit on it lengthways?

I have both small square and large square. Let me count them... 29 x 29 yup and I can do up to 4 boards for a super large square which would be um (I hate math) 58 x 58. Or I can put 2 together for 29 x 58 either across or up/down. I wish they made larger squares. Thanks!

just google "perler" and you should come up with some pics that you can either create a pattern from or just do the project yourself by looking off the pic. Also you can google sprite pages and use those for inprompt-to patterns if you know what i mean.

I've not made any perler bead crafts myself, but you could find some sprites that you like and zoom in on them in Paint or some other graphics program. Here are some links to some pictures:
Sonic The Hedgehog Sprites
Super Mario Sprites
Pokemon Sprites

If you need patterns, point out the ones you want made and I or someone else can make them for you.

I DL'd a free program called Artopik, which allows me to put pictures in and would work for perler or cross stitch (its a cross stitch program). However, when you resize a picture to say 29 x 29 pixels, boy do things get a tad blurry! Maybe it's because my pictures have too many colors. I tried it in black and white also and that helped some.

There are some really excellent discussions on preparing images for bead sprites on the Pixelgasm forum
