AUG Challenge - Theme?

It's nearly the end of July (and I realise I'm behind on this one, sorry!) so I just wanted to quickly get your thoughts on next month's challenge. Again, it's a short one so simple ideas are probably best - I know how pushed for time some of you are.

Some previous ideas, just to get you started:

One game challenge (same game for everyone)
Easter eggs (in-game type)
Genre swap
Babies
Funny takes on game characters
3D projects
Games re-imagined/improved

Any other ideas are also welcome!

August 1st marks the end of summer classes and the start of my last three weeks of "summer." I'm not likely going to have time to enter the contest but you never know. I've also been thinking of other ideas that could be used as contest entries:
  • Mini Stuffies (under 6") - We have some talented members on the board who specialize in these and I think we'd all enjoy seeing the results.
  • Original pixel patterns - you make it, design it and stitch it. Would need a max number of stitches.
  • Portraits - "traditional" portraits of video game characters. I would make framing a requirment - either a stitched frame or a real one. This idea comes from these awesome remixed photos.

Would amigurumi count for a stuffies challenge? I've been dying to try one of those out! 6" would probably be too small for that though.

I'd love a stuffies challenge also! I haven't been doing amigurumi for long but I love making video game character dolls! However, I do like the idea of a one-game challenge. Who would choose the game, or would we put it to a vote?

I vote for the one game challenge or the original pixel patterns challenge

There's a lot of interesting themes... I particularly love the "one game" and the "mini stuffies" ones

I would say that amigurumi count as "stuffies" ;) felt, fabric, yarn, whatever :D
I only suggested under 6" because it needs to be finished in one month.

When you say "stuffies"... what all does that encompass? Amigurumi, felt dolls, what? I don't really know what a "stuffie" is. That could be fun. And if not, my vote goes to easter eggs!

"stuffie" is short for "stuffed animal" (though it doesn't have to be an animal). I apologize for the confusion this term has caused. "Soft Toy" is a better term and encompasses Amigurumi, felted toys, stuffed animals, etc. It's up to BMH to set the guidelines though...

I like the "one game" challenge. It would be even more fun if it were something obscure and not something like TLOZ or Mario.

OH! Or we could do a "glow-in-the-dark" challenge. Make something, but have something else hidden in it in glow thread/yarn/paint.
