I, too, was thinking with portals. :) This was a quick project I did on a quiet night at work.

Been away from cross-stitching for nearly 2 months. I needed a break. But I'm back to stitching again, and got me first entry for this challenge. Jason Voorhees mask with a knife jammed through one of the eyes. I've been wanting to stitch this for several years now but also wanted to time it for the right date, on a Friday the 13th (which I kept missing the past couple years). Okay, so I still got it done a little bit early, on the 8th, but close enough. Anyway, also works out as an inanimate object as well so that was perfect.

Miss Clawful, I always love your image-on-black style, and impeccable shading! Nice job.

Well, after working on it for a while today I finished much faster then I thought I would. When I saw BM's description of possible ideas of inanimate objects of blocks to dead bodies I Instantly thought of dead video game characters. I thought of Final Fantasy, and if they were all dead it would have to be " The Final Fantasy !"

This is what I came up with.

Another WIP, sorry if they are boring anyone. I just get so excited when it starts coming together. The egg shaped paper mache was a lot more work than I thought it would be! But now I just need to get some wires and do a bit of detailing =) Not a perfect replica, but I like doing things my way.

Ok here's my entry. The original idea refused to pattern out so I went in a different direction and did this by eye without a pattern. Please ignore the rumpled texture under the piece as I had to prop it up next to window when sun rose to get enough light for it to photograph semi-correctly. Idk why my flash rebelled and wanted to turn everything sepia tone.
