If you want it to be a part of this years quilt, you need to send it NOW. Mail could take up to 3 weeks because of customs unless you pay extra to fed ex it.
According to a post officer, normally it takes 7 days to Canada from Japan. With EMS, it's 4 days. So, I thought it should be OK if i send it in a week. But I know it's better to send it as soon as possible.

Man oh man! I wish I had an ironclad excuse like kids for my delay but I've just been lazy. Got mostly finished then just sort of kept putting it off. But today's my birthday and I'm like 97% done so I'm going to spend the day watching TV and stitching. Barring some sort of unforeseen disaster I will be finished by tomorrow!

Finished my square and posted a photo in the gallery thread. Now I'm going to go do a simpler pattern to take the edge of the last couple weeks of insane stitching...

When sending via fedex, how do you figure out what value to declare your package at and what Product/Commodity description should we be using? I've never sent something internationally before and don't want to screw it up.

It doesn't really matter frankly. Just make sure you check "gift", otherwise tnitnetny might be charged customs fees. And man, they love to charge you freaking fees in Canada...

Crap, I have a bad feeling I forgot to check the gift box. Toni, if they charge you anything let me know and I'll pay for it!

They are going to my home, it should be fine. If you declare something, just declare under $50. They just want to know how valuable it is. The less valuable, the less likely they will go through it.

I went through what was sent to my parents. I received the square from puffbirdie and the two squares from Jade. So now to get some pinning done!

Finished! I finished my Double Dragon project this morning and it is already in the mail. It's coming all the way from beautiful BC but it should make it in time. The annoying thing is I was in such a hurry to get it sent off I forgot to take a picture of it. I'm so annoyed with myself. Fortunately, a co-worker saw the finished work and took a picture on her camera phone. When I see her in a couple of days I'll get her to send me her pictures. But the important thing is I got it done in time! Hooray for frantic, last minute stitching!

My princess peach square is finished, and has been. I just honestly forgot about the deadline because, my little girl just turned 5 and is going to school next wek. so literally to make rent i cannot send out my piece to you until September 4th. I will see if I have some wiggle room but I'm not sure as of yet.
