Do you mean dye as in not stitch the sea? I guess that would save alot of time in the end

Some use KG chart (free - just google it) and others use PC stitch or Macstitch (there are demo's out there). Some people still use paint and there's the reliable paper and pencil method.
I use PC Stitch which I love. I've also got KG chart but I've only got that so I can see other peoples patterns that get posted here.
