So, well, uuhm, yes it's Smaug!lock....( the mix between BBCs Sherlock and Smaug from the Hobbit)
It's dangerous to go alone in both middle earth and London, so take a consultingdetectivedragon!
He was with me when i went to DOS, and yes i knitted the Watson sweater.
The eyes are LEDs wich can be switched on and off and his bellie is covered in golden sequines, except for the spot over the heart.

Thats awesome! How difficult was it? I've not been crocheting long and I'm just working on a giant granny square blanket for my mum. The plan is to do a Princess Peach blanket for my friends baby which is due in about 6 months so gives me a little bit of time. But i would love to be able to make a few of those critters its just the patterns really confuse me

My daughter would, seriously, kill for that Smaug!lock. She is so obsessed with Benny/Hobbit/Star Trek/Sherlock it's not even funny...and, to think, a year ago I tried to get her to watch Sherlock and she'd have none of it. What a difference a year makes...now she won't shut up. lol

While I do have the main part of my pattern set and within a few days of being finished I'm still undecided on what to do for the background, but I think in the end I'm going to keep it simple and stick with the original game plan. What's the cut off day on this challenge?

Oh, I didn't realize there was an extension. I thought this was already over. Since it's still on, this morning I made what I first thought of when I read the initial post.

If anyone that I cared about was going on an adventure, I would want them to have these. Just so I could know they were safe.


Here is a picture of the 1-up next to what I made them from. It's just a little sweet container that I got in one of those eclectic, loads-of-random-stuff shops years ago. I just kind of eye-balled it until I thought it looked close. hehe

I'm not able to participate at the last moment hell breaks loose, at least the pattern remained unscathed, I might sew it for a penpal next christmas instead...
