Sweet Beans! I may need help. I am horrible at coming up with patterns to do. And I am absolutely clueless on how to make a patter. lol

I want to do this, but only have like 4 or 5 patterns under my belt...so feeling a bit uneasy...

To make our swap truly mini, much like the original mini swap, we're going to try and make our gifts within a size restriction. I've done a bit of research and have set the maximum size as 5x7", which is apparently a standard greetings card size. Enough space to make a good something! This also means that if you make something flat or flat-ish, you may be able to send it as a letter instead of a package and save on shipping. Don't worry though, you can still make something non-flat and send it as a package, just ensure that it's no bigger than the 5x7"! The size limit also applies to a set of items - the set as a whole should meet the size. I know some of you will try and find a way around this limitation, I say bring it! Just don't go too far!

What if they're framed? I have 2 frames that show a 3.25" (8cm) square face in each...what if I chose to use them for my swap? I've had them for years and this will be the perfect opportunity to use them! All depending on my recipients interests of course! Thought I'd better ask before I got carried away! I'm so excited!

Got my supplies for this in the mail yesterday! Also bought some small frames on clearance at Micheals so hopefully they'll match whatever my swapee likes

don't worry if you are new at making patterns! There are plenty of cool things you can make without necessarily *making* a new pattern.
Mixing and matching elements from existing patterns is totally legit and yields awesome results - or maybe change the colors? Also remember that these don't have to be limited to "pattern-based" crafts.

Drawing, photography, mixed media, the sky's the limit, but not the size ;)

Okay...I think I've decided to sign up! It's been a couple years since I participated. I didn't have the best of experiences then (too much stress at the time) but I'm hoping this time will be better! I will complete the survey and keep my fingers crossed!! I'm excited!!!

Yeah, I think they'd be fine, because you can stack 'em!

I totally agree! What you make and how you make it is completely up to you.
Regarding patterns, feel free to use any of the tons of patterns we have already (because why make a pattern if one already exists? ) or ask myself or starrley for any help you might need.
Also, if you find yourself stuck for ideas, we can also help there as well!
