Now for a big question: would you, blackmageheart, consider Charizard to be a dragon? He's not classified as one, by Nintendo and Game Freak, but he looks as much like a dragon as many others outside of the game. So what do you think? Can Charizard qualify as a dragon for this challenge?

Without a doubt, I would consider Charizard to be a dragon. Nintendo & Game Freak can assign types to their hearts' content (or in this case, not assign types) but that, to me, is a dragon.

Thank you. That is what I thought too. I have a killer idea for a Charizard pattern. Hopefully I can complete it in time.

I know it's overdone, but I'm sticking with the Pokemon theme too. I'm going to be doing Latios and Latias though. I just bought the thread today, so wish me luck! :pika

My dragon's coming along. Body's done, arms and legs done, legs attached, tail started then given to the cat (she thinks it looks like a mouse!) then restarted, finished, and sewed on. Now I just have to make sure that my cat doesn't think the rest of the project is hers...she would make a good dragon slayer!

Cute. I like this one. I could add the "how to train your dragon" to my next cross-stitch, and I have thought about it, it'd be perfect for it, but since I've never seen that movie its kind of hard for me to do a title/quote for something I know very little about (I tend to stick with only things of familiarity to me).

I got between a week to a week and a half (hopefully not any longer than that) before mine is completed (on my last 2 colors). My goal was to have it finished by the 26th but seeing now that I have less than a week before that date (it'll take me 2-3 more days to complete the dragon, probably over a week for the entire background), it'll most certainly take just a bit longer. I wanted to have enough time to do at least 2 more dragon projects (have several more picked out, next choice is a sure thing). So many dragons, not enough time.

So far I've logged in 68 hours 30 minutes stitching time just on this one single project (around 70 hours if counting failed color choices stitched in but removed). My largest was the Startropics one I had done end of last year, I don't think this one will take quite as long as that did but will come in a close 2nd. I have no idea what the stitch count is, but its grand scale, nearly an entire screen shot (I am so glad the material was large enough 15x18 with the cross-stitch leaving about a half an inch around the edges), thank goodness for all the black space though otherwise I wouldn't have tackled it (there was another I really wanted to do for this but being over 20,000 stitches it would have taken me probably 3 months to do). Can't wait to show it.

I hope I'll have time. I have finals in a few weeks, so I'll see if I can finish something in time. Who doesn't love dragons?

Everyone's work so far is great. And I'm so glad that many others agree that Charizard is a dragon. He's awesome!

My dragons are finished, and have been for a week or so now. Unfortunately our internet has been down for a while and isn't very reliable at the moment, so I can't post my pictures just yet. Hopefully soon though.
