Well, you get assigned a swap partner and you'll get the survey they filled in with their address and interests. You make something based on what they like and send it to them (secretly) and they get a nice surprise gift.
You don't necessarily have to make your own patterns, you can borrow them from elsewhere or ask for help on the sly! I've helped out with several patterns for gifts in the past :)
I'm a newbie what's the sly?

sly
adj. sli·er (slr) also sly·er, sli·est (slst) also sly·est
1. Clever or cunning, especially in the practice of deceit.
2. Stealthy or surreptitious: took a sly look at the letter on the table.
3. Playfully mischievous: a sly laugh.
Idiom:
on the sly
In a way intended to escape notice: took extra payments on the sly.

Long story short: if you need help with patterns/ideas, ask me! :D

Thanks for clearing that up for me! After deliberation, I won't take part this time, I'd certainly like to next time though. What will the challenge be this month? Might be able to squeeze something out for that...

Ive just signed up! My first swap too!! I'm so excited!! Will give me a nice break from my huge Shaun of the Dead one!! The size limit is nice too, because I have uni starting up mid Sept! >.< Will be nice to have my weekends stitching though, and this will be a good excuse to do that! :)

If I wasn't six months pregnant and trying to get baby stuff finished and Christmas presents before little Victoria arrives, I would totally love to do this! Maybe next year when life calms down I'll be able to participate.

I just wanted to pop in and say that I'm actually going to be out of town the first week of September for my anniversary trip. I probably won't be able to get online to see who my swap partner is, but don't worry! I'll have plenty of time once I get back to craft. :)
