That right there looks like a bad situation! I love it when those female creatures lose their hair and they're all :O
Also, those repeating patterns on the floor are quite fun to do (I thought so anyway!)

As for Link's Awakening...I'd go for the fishing one. :D

I know just about anything game related goes for this, but I want to ask about the square I just came up with. It is created from an image that has no background except straight up white which is annoying to me. So I am going to post what I came up with and the image it came from so you can see.

This is the one I came up with. The background color is obviously changed and I made the clouds... I don't know if they are really Mario world clouds but they are what I came up with to break up the monotony of the background.

This is the image the previous one is made from...

My question is, is the one I made ok to use even though the background isn't exactly from the New Super Mario Bros Wii game or no? If no that's ok, I am just trying to work out some squares to replace some of the ones I had initially planned to do and now don't much like...

I agree with the mystic quest (the colors and repeating pattern would look good in the quilt), but I would go with the second one for Link. There is something about the chain chomp in every game that I love.

* Must be a scene from a video game, no original creations or just logos. It can be an opening or closing shot, the scene doesn't have to be within the game.

* You can stitch a single character as long as it fills most of the square and the specific game can easily be identified. For example a Kirby would not be accepted, although this Kirby would: http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a6/tnitnetny/kirby.jpg. It is obviously from Return to Kirby's Dreamland.
I should think that, according to these rules, you can't. But I'm not in charge or even participating, so who am I to say much of anything? :/

I must have missed that at the beginning. I will just take the clouds out and fill the background as a solid color.

I, personally, don't see a problem with doing the clouds. Makes it pop more. I did find a screen shot of Luigi with Yoshi in which there are clouds behind them that you could possibly use. Here it is

But with saying that, I would wait till one of the more senior members of the project say something. :)

I just removed the clouds I made on the one I picked, so it's a solid blue background now.

NO! Don't take the clouds out! I love the clouds! I think the pattern you made would look AMAZING on a quilt. Also, there is nothing in those rules that should have made you think you couldn't use the clouds. The rules say "* Must be a scene from a video game, no original creations or just logos. It can be an opening or closing shot, the scene doesn't have to be within the game." What it seems to mean by original creations is you can't create your own scene from a made-up video game. You're using a scene from a most definitely recognizable video game, and you filled in the space just as was requested. Obviously, wait for the judges to weigh in though.

I hope that you can use it for the quilt! I think it looks really great :D

I agree; I like the clouds and I think the character is easily recognizable as being from New SMB, so I think you're safe.
