Very nice, blackberrybear! I worked on mine on Thursday while waiting for a government official to come and see me...he kept me waiting so long I finished it too! Anyone else managed to complete the first part?

about 3/4 done with mine. I'm not too worried though, as I think this one is the one with the most stitched squares, of the ones that got voted on.

Still have to finish the black around the cuccos and then I'll be done. Didn't get to stitch as much the past couple of days as I would have liked.

Just finished my first square! You can't tell from the picture but it is actually on a pale blue mottled hand dyed aida I got for $3.00 in a bargain bin at my local shop. Also Link used some self tanner even though I told him not too, please don't make too much fun of him
@BMH I'm hoping to do no borders but I won't know until I finish if it will look good with none. If I choose to make a border I'm hoping to use variegated floss.
What do you guys think I should use for "sprite-stitch red" for my lettering? I'm thinking of DMC 666 or 349.

Spoiler

Question is, will he go streaky when he gets wet?stitchingmama wrote:Also Link used some self tanner even though I told him not too, please don't make too much fun of him
You probably won't need borders since you're doing something else that's interesting! I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone's turns outstitchingmama wrote:@BMH I'm hoping to do no borders but I won't know until I finish if it will look good with none. Re: APR/MAY Stitch-A-Long - Samplers!
Here's my square:
My plan for the squares is a bit ambitious, but I loved so many of the patterns that I wanted to stitch a bunch of them. So I found this frame and I'm going to fill it: I'm planning on 15 squares for patterns from the stitch-a-long and one square for the Sprite Stitch logo. I'm still working on picking out which squares I will stitch and how I will lay them out, but I think it will be a really fun project.
I don't usually stitch on 14 count fabric as I find two strands of floss to be too little coverage and three strands of floss to be too thick. But I'll admit that stitching on fabric that's a bigger count than I'm used to makes for some very fun, easy stitching. My plan for the squares is a bit ambitious, but I loved so many of the patterns that I wanted to stitch a bunch of them. I need to fill in a couple more cuccos on mine and then I will be done with it although, I am considering filling in the open white with green on that particular one. I am not sure if I will do borders or not, but I think I might do something.
