My son's birthday is right around the corner and he is obssessed with video games and LOVES Mario so when I found this forum through another link at Nuts about Needlepoint.com, I was intrigued by the possiblity of making a cross stitch for him for his birthday. This is my first attempt at a video game themed one and I think it came out great. I patterned this by hand using sprite patterns I found here on the forums.

I would love to know what you guys think!

Thank you both!! The blue background isn't quite the same blue as the Mario games daytime color but it's as close as I had in my stash from a long time ago. The yellow mat is actually a piece of construction paper for now as the cross stitch is an uneven size. I am hoping to get a professionally cut yellow mat at some point but that's a ways off yet.

Thank you! All the blue was a bit of a pain in the BUTT but it's not as much as it looks like. The size is just a little bigger than 4 and 1/2 inches by 5 and 1/2 inches total. It's framed in an 8 x 10 frame.
