My first video game cross stitch :)

I'm going to post the pattern for anyone who wants it, but first I have to figure out a few colours. I've already been to the shop once to exchange some, and now I decided I have to do more (such a perfectionist heh heh).

Here's the first and second photos I took... doggy had to be unpicked after the first photo cos I realised he was aligned wrong (oops!) Then later I had to unpick the chicken for the exact same reason! So extra silly of me!

It's fun watching it take shape

It is, isn't it? I love to see people's progress in pictures - you can really see it build up :D

It looks great so far, I'm sure it'll be very cute when it's done! Good luck ^^

It's looking good so far. If you're having trouble with the colours, think about getting a colour chart, it helps me a lot.
Also, is it just me or do the chickens in HM always look tired?

Love it! HM was such a fantastic game.

And yes, the chickens do look tired!

Hi, what is this colour chart you speak of? :) It sounds like a very useful thing to have :D Do they sell DMC charts at embroidery shops or something? Are they expensive?
And I don't see the tiredness of the chicken, haha. Someone explain it to me? Although maybe it's one of those things you can't unsee! :D

http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/Prin ... 100AR.aspx - printed one, which costs £6, which is... $10 I think...
and
http://www.sewandso.co.uk/Products/DMC- ... W100A.aspx - this one actually has the threads on it, so you can see exactly what it looks like. I'd suggest getting this one, which is £14.50 or $24.
They are quite expensive, but I use it for every pattern I make, a lot of the pattern making programs often get things a little wrong... Also, I'm not great at converting from pounds to dollar, so they might not be right. I'm not sure how easy it might be to find it in NZ, but I found mine in a badly stocked store, so you should be able to find it.

I really like this scene, it's so cute! Are you going to leave the edges like this? Because I love this frayed look
