Ninja Jajamaru Kun shirt

Post by biostitch2point0 »

I made this for my brother. This sprite is on the front of a black t-shirt, like a logo. Next I'm gonna stitch the girl onto the sleeve. (Sorry for the sucky photography!)

This looks good! :) Now you've got me looking at how to cross stitch onto tshirts. Sounds like a good way to deal with my "I made it, now what do I do with it?" problem.

I'm terrible at stitching on shirts so I give you lots of credit. Whenever I try, no matter how many grids or guidemarks I make on the shirt, it still manages to come out uneven or bunched up or something lol. One of these days I'll get it right :)

yeah, it was pretty tricky for me too, but mostly because the waste fabric is so hard to take out at the end. What I did was cut out a piece of waste canvas (different from regular cross stitch fabric) and baste it on the shirt with some big stitches around the edges. After that just stitched the design and then took out the basting, but the waste fabric was still pretty annoying to take out (I had to take a sharpie to the leftover nubs that stuck out!). For the sleeve I'm stitching just a little looser...

You can also stitch a normal piece of aida cloth to a shirt...once youre done you can cut the ends of the aida cloth and unravel it one string at a time...a bit tedious but itll help you work on different fabrics.
