I like the Fallout series a lot. New Vegas is a lot of fun to play and I thought it would be neat to stitch something from it. I found a picture of the New Vegas sign that I really like and made a pattern with PC Stitch. The thing with PC Stitch is that if you don't allow it to use enough colors, the image can come out lacking definition. There's 53 colors in this baby and there were so many color changes. So. Many. Even with that, it only took me about a month to stitch. It fits in an 8" hoop, but I'm not sure if I want to hoop it or frame it. I used metallic silver thread to make it look like the lights are sparkling, but it's hard to see in the pictures.
And here's the picture I used

Such pretty colors! The stitching looks well done. I could definitely see the shiny lights.
However, I didn't make out the "3" and "new" section until I looked at the original picture. I personally would add in backstitching to define the sign and letters.

I tried to do backstitching on that dang 3 a few times, but each time it didn't come out right. I even looked at the pattern to see where the 3 was in association with the A underneath. It's not framed yet so I may try again, but I just couldn't get it to look right.

Ahhh. Gotchya. At least you tried! I understand your frustration of it looking off and having to pull all those stitches back out. If you're happy with it that's all that matters.PinkPoodle wrote:I tried to do backstitching on that dang 3 a few times, but each time it didn't come out right. Hey there! I know it's a super old thread but was looking to find this pattern or something similar. Any way you can share it if you still have access? Or if someone else sees this and can make it? Thank you!

I'll jump on the necro bandwagon as well, though I want to know how the final result looked! Were you (OP) able to get the backstitch right?
