Mega Man - Elec Man stage - WIP (DONE!)

So... I'm not sure I will be able to finish this, but if I do, it will be my magnum opus.
The idea is to fill a whole plastic sheet (8,25" x 11") with them stitches.
Which is 152 x 114 stitches to be precise... oh, well... if I counted correctly.
I copy-pasted tiles from Elec Man's stage and came up with this

so it's not the actual level design, I just tried to make an exciting scene: WILL HE MAKE THE JUMP?!?!
I know many of you fellow stitchers have made bigger projects, but the biggest project I've done so far was a bookmark with maybe 20 x 50 stiches and I thought it was a drag.
And the blue sky is definitly gonna be a drag. Even though it's an absolutely lovely royal blue color. I think it's my favourite sky colour of all NES games.
I'm also a bit worried that I'll do half of it and then realize it looks like ****. Let's hope not.
For the orange/yellow I'm gonna use DMC 741 and for the brown... ish I'm gonna use a thread I had laying around. Don't know what brand or what number so I hope it's gonna be enough.

I think this is going to look great. To make it through the project you just need to figure out which part you enjoy the most and do that last. Personally I like to do large blocks of one colour so on my last plastic canvas project I did all the intricate parts first then turned on the tv to do my large blocks of colour. Whereas if you hate doing just 1 colour make yourself do a chunk of it at a time & reward yourself with the more intricate work.

That is going to be a lot of stitches. Though, if you section it out and tell yourself "today I'm going to finish this one" and you do, you'll have a real sense of progression and it won't feel so tedious. Also, is there any way you could get plastic canvas in that background color, or paint it that color? Because then you'd have much less to stitch. But I guess you'd see the holes then... well, it's an idea. Whatever way you're confident doing it will be the best way.

I have filled in a full sheet of plastic canvas with stitches before (for the Harvest Moon farm base) and like MaliciousBacon says, section it off and its less tedious. It won't take as long as you think! Good luck, and I hope you'll keep us updated!

I even do the intricate parts infront of the tv : )
Right now I have one episode left on Breaking Bad season 3. Many episodes left!

Great progress!
The background does seem a bit dark in the photo, but it will help Mega-Man stand out since he'll be in lighter colors

Thanks!
Yeah, I think it's too dark. It's the second color I'm trying for the sky.
First color I tried was
820 Royal Blue Very Dark after suggestion from
http://bond.in.th/octrabond/image-tools ... o-dmc-code
It was waaaay off. I could even see in the store that it wasn't the right color.
So I went home and tried KG-Chart and got
3750 Antique Blue Very Dark. I think the blueish tone is good, but a bit dark.
The RGB values for the sky is
Red: 24
Green: 60
Blue: 92
Maybe
930 Antique Blue Dark would be best.
But I don't know if I will re-stitch or continue with this color. Haven't decided yet.

PC-stitch suggests 311 for that RGB value, if it helps.
