Finally finished! My fingers may never be the same. Both used 10 ct waste canvas and 4 strands of thread.
First is a cell phone pouch/purse. This one was the most painful to stitch, it's made out of pressed felt and super hard to pull the needle through.
Second was a larger purse. This one wasn't as bad on the fingers.

Re: Waste canvas purses
Wow well done!
I have some waste canvas sitting here but I've never had the right thing to stitch something on...
Why did you choose to use 4 strands?

3 probably would have been fine; I just wanted to make sure the background didn't show through, and 10 is a larger grid than I've worked with before.Shazbang wrote:Why did you choose to use 4 strands?

That's fair enough, I recently did a bookmark on perforated paper and used 3 strands for the same reason, I imagine 4 was quite hard to push through fabric like that though!funkymonkey wrote:3 probably would have been fine; I just wanted to make sure the background didn't show through, and 10 is a larger grid than I've worked with before.
Both look awesome though!

Re: Waste canvas purses
I've used waste canvas once, with mixed feelings. I think I used 4 strands aswell, just to ensure color didn's show through. I did some snowflakes on a knited sweater. That was the easy part, wool ftw! So i got ambitious and did candy canes on a dress shirt colar, not to easy. So i guilt my mom into weaping them every year for christmas!

Your pain and anguish was worth it. I love the yoshi cell bag!
