Wow. This is incredible! I never would have thought to cross stitch a rug. My head is spinning now with all the cross-stitched rugs I must create...

Yes, it is that simple . I just printed some random comic book and then used it to frame (i do this a lot ). I think that gives to the finished project some personality...

I love your umbrella rug! So the rug canvas that you used, was it the same sort of thing that you would use for rug-hooking?

Here in Portugal, we have tradition on making rugs with a technique named Arraiolos and I've used arraiolos canvas for this one.
I googled a little and found out that this canvas is really similar to the one you refer. So I think if anyone wants to cross stitch a rug, can use the rug-hooking canvas
