Probably a dumb question...what is that that you're parking your needles on? I've just started using this technique and I'm interested in seeing how others do it.

It's called a "needle minder", and it's essentially two very strong magnets with a decorative button. One magnet goes behind your fabric, and the one with the pretty button goes in front. You can easily DIY them for cheap, but I have an obsession with pretty things, so I buy them. Etsy is a dangerous place; don't go there right after you get paid.
