That's what I'm doing for this one. If you look closely at my pics, you'll see that they aren't full crosses, but the coverage is still very good. I was a little afraid to experiment with 28 ct for such a large project, so I selected 25ct instead. It's perfect.lucybaddog wrote:It looks fabulous.
Although you can end up a bit cross eyed the advantage with high thread counts is that you can squeeze much bigger designs onto the fabric. I have been experimenting with one over one on 28 count linen although I have been doing it in petite point rather than cross stitch.

I'm curious where you found 18ct fabric large enough for the project. I ended up ordering Lugana because I couldn't find a large enough piece. I do most of my shopping from 123stitch, but am always happy to try something new!Xanatos wrote:18 count is small enough for me

My local sewing shop only sells Aida by the metre. Luckily it was wide enough to handle the project...but only just

I'm to the point where it's so hard to find fabric that's wide enough for these epic patterns that I'm getting ready to buy a 60 inch x10 yards Aida bolt from Burlap Fabrics. (LINK) The initial buy is expensive, but 60 inches x 360 inches is a ton of Aida fabric..and I plan on doing the Pokemon All Gens pattern someday, so I'm pretty much buying the roll to accommodate that project and other ones like this Super Mario map. Maybe I'm losing my mind with my to-do list, but they're just so awesome.Xanatos wrote:My local sewing shop only sells Aida by the metre. Lol! Fabric for these really large projects can be a pain to find! When I run through a lot of my fabric stash, I may order a bolt of evenweave. I find that I prefer the look of a nice evenweave, these days. I must be getting old..

What do you guys think about using metallic threads, like Kreiniks, for the actual circular board markers?

Any color suggestions for the yellows or the red?

Spoiler
I start teaching again this week, so I won't have as much free time. Such a bummer!

Thanks for looking!
