Re: Left 4 Dead pencil box
If you are concerned about scratching, you can also use 1 entire strand of DMC thread with the 14 count plastic canvas. I think for the pencil box they glued regular fabric on the inside which is also an option for no scratches.

Hi! First of all thank you guys for all of your comments! I'm really glad that you guys like my project.
I did glue felt on the inside; it prevents scratching and also hides the unslightly stitchings on the back. As for the kind of yarn I used, really any yarn at your local craft store or walmart will work. I think the brands I used were Red Heart (which is not good for knitting imo since it's scratchy, but ok for this kind of project) and Simply Soft. They were leftovers from my previous knitting projects.
Unfortunately I don't have a scanner right now, but I will try to post the pattern when I can. I made it myself with colored pencils and graph paper. Also, I no longer have this project with me, but I'll get my boyfriend to measure it and I'll post the dimensions soon.

Re: Left 4 Dead pencil box
Here is my version of the box.

Instead of felt, I sewed a cotton cloth box and then set it inside and then sewed it to the back side of the plastic canvas.

I also made it a lot deeper so it can be used for scissors, glue, etc and not just pencils.

Thanks for the idea!!!

I had seen it at the sprite stitch weblog. It is really cool! I'm making a business card holder for myself, using those materiais, and it does take patience. You gave me the inspiration and I thank you for that! Lovely work.
