Perler Rubix Cube and Bubble Bobble Cross Stitch

Post by tnitnetny »

Here is my new Rubix Cube that I am using as a candy dish. I got the idea from someone (who I believe is on these boards) who is selling them on etsy.

I also decided to make the bubble bobble cross stitch I saw on the front page in April. I changed it a little and didn't sew a background. Instead I put it on a 14 count light blue material. I will take it to get it framed this weekend.

I might be quiet with projects for awhile. It is time for Christmas gifts, so I will be making things more tailored to other people. For example, I am making a friend a portrait of her and her husband that I have turned into a cross stitch and putting on 28 count fabric.

Very cool rubix cube and bubble bobble. :yahoo:

When stitching on 28 count, are you doing it with 1 or 2 threads? I'm intrigued for when I get better at stitching. :)

I will be starting it tonight. I will only use 1 thread because I am sewing from a picture and want to give it a painting look. If it was a gaming piece, I may have dne 2 threads to give it a cartoony popped look.

The bubble bobble stitch I did 3 threads because it was only 14 count and ot gave it a popped look.

I took 2 of my stitches to get framed yesterday. I forgot how expensive it could be.

I found the pattern from the main sprite stitch page under "other patterns". I used the DMC threads they gave exactly. The only change I made was move the eyes a little in the bottom middle guy and not stitch the entire background.

It was a very quick and easy pattern to do.
