Last week my boyfriend had a small get together of friends. Since we all love My Little Pony and they wanted me to make them something I decided on a pony cake.
I made everything from scratch including the fondant, which I had never worked with before so it came out weird....it wasn't stiff enough I guess. But pretty good for a first try I think!
Here is the cake I got for my boyfriend this year. He doesnt really like cakes, but I told him he was going to get on whether he liked it or not, so he came up with some demands. The cake had to have a dragon (preferably the skyrim dragon) coming out of a portal holding a portal gun, and bacon. Sadly I forgot about the portal gun when I ordered it. The ladies taking my order thought I was crazy. I also gave them multiple pics of the skyrim dragon and this was the result, I think I finally found their limits and I think they may refuse to make anymore cakes for me because of this. We still loved the cake though, its very unique!
How'd you do that grass border on the birthday cake?
Hehe our table "numbers" were actually video game characters. :3
And the border was actually just a regular ol' stamp with food colouring as the 'ink'. I would recommend using a gel food coloring, I used a liquid, and it was kind of difficult. On the other side, you can tell I was having some problems. Lol.
