Re: Walking to Mordor
High heat and/or humidity is my Achilles Heel. It's been as high as 90 in the afternoons here.
Tuesday and Wednesday I was up in Kentucky, and it was about 20 degrees cooler. Got a couple good runs in.

I know, right?! No wonder most Hobbits never left the Shire, they probably didn't fancy all the walking needed to get somewhere interestingEliste wrote:Dear lord. Those Hobbits walked FOREVER!! I've still got over 200 miles to go just to get to Rivendell...

Re: Walking to Mordor
Its kind of crazy to think that I used to make a journey that is as far as I've walked in the past 3 months at least once a week via car to get to somewhere interesting. How the world changes...Aegidia wrote: I know, right?! No wonder most Hobbits never left the Shire, they probably didn't fancy all the walking needed to get somewhere interesting

Cirestan! Congrats on reaching Rivendell! You've got the first leg of the journey done. Just a few more miles until the ring is destroyed.

Re: Walking to Mordor
While we were in London/Paris, we walked more than 10 miles per day! That did some nice things to my total distance. Here's my fitbit's weekly average since March. Which week did I travel? haha.

Woohoo, I've reached the Midgewater Marshes!
... no. Wait.
Nooooo I don't want to be in the Midgewater Marshes! I hate midges...

Sinus infection, cold, and whole body aches. Just in time for my race this weekend.

Re: Walking to Mordor
I can now vouch for the 'going on holiday'-method of putting in the necessary mileage! 45 km in three days, at a conservative estimate, which for each day is almost four times what I usually walk on a working day. And so, so, SO much climbing... I have calves of steel now.

Re: Walking to Mordor
Bulletproof calves of steel? Or just regular calves of steel?
