Pokémon badges

Post by smoni »

Hi,

It's a friend's birthday coming up soon and I'd love to be able to stitch her all 40 of the badges from the Pokémon game, from all 5 generations.

I found the patterns for the first three generations, but I was hoping to combine them together to make more of a picture. Problem is, I'm useless at it!

I wondered if anyone is willing to have a go or has got something similar?

Thanks in advance!

Edit: Apologies for the picture being so big!

Also, I probably should have said, size-wise I don't mind as long as it's not too big. I was thinking approximately the size of an A4 piece of paper (30cm x 21cm) on 16 count aida, although I'm fairly inexperienced, so don't really know the different sizes.

That is a great pattern, thanks very much!

I looked at the possibility of putting in the extra two badges from B/W2, but it would totally mess up the symmetry, so not a good idea!

Sorry  I completely forgot these two badges because I don't know them actually. In fact, I took the sprites in trainer card editors on the web and the new badges were still not added yet...

No worries, they're not important anyway, being as they're unreleased here at the moment!

I think what I'm going to do is substitute two of the colours - the silver in the Sinnoh badges and the gold in the Unova badges for actual gold and silver thread. Not sure what effect that'll produce, but I'll post a picture if I remember!

Ok, the next question is, what should I put as a caption?

It's a present for a 30th birthday, they're a married couple who celebrate their 30th birthdays within weeks of each other.

My two thoughts:
Happy 30th Birthdays (but it sounds a bit odd)
or
Darren and Emma, Pokémon Masters (but it sounds really cheesy!)

Appreciate any contributions!

I actually really like the sound of 'Pokemon Masters'! If they're big fans it isn't cheesy at all :)

I was meaning to post sooner, but I'm currently most of the way through this pattern. It's been going for 24ish days, and I've managed to finish all the circles and black outlines, as well as all the colour in the Kanto badges. I'm currently doing the gold in the Unova badges. I decided to use metallic threads for the Unova and Sinnoh badges to add a bit more of an effect. So far, I'm really pleased with the way it looks, although initially the colours have looked a bit off, but they look better the more I look at it.

(Apologies if this is in the wrong thread, if I should have posted this in the WIP forum I'm happy to repost it there)
