Heyro Statue?

Post by m4pl3g1rl »

So I know this has nothing to do with video games, but I wanted to share. (You guys are getting a sneak peak, 'cause this won't be showing up until Friday on my blog.)

I found a tutorial on Epbot.com that I could not wait to try. It was putting a faux copper (or metallic) patina on something that wasn't metal. So since I love Asian things, especially Japanese things, you can imagine how happy I was to find a Geisha playing a shamisen (3 stringed Japanese lute) ceramic statue at the thrift store. But looking at the finished product you wouldn't know it was ceramic!

I am thrilled with how it came out! I aged and rusted the heck out of the statue. Well, not as much as the original from the tutorial but I love her. I've already started in on a Laughing Buddha statue.

Woo Epbot! :D

Seems like a nifty way to spiff up garage sale finds, too.
Mostly hibernating here. Find me on Twitter @rmdcade.

Oh yeah, and the fun part? Aside from the teal colored paint, it's all spray paint! Quick and easy.
