Heart and Brain Shoes

Post by spinuntilyoufall »

I have a friend who is in school for Nutritional Health - so this is my snarky birthday present for her:

I got the patterns from the wonderful Bombastitch on Etsy. (If you haven't seen her store, check it out! But beware - it's full of awesome patterns that you'll want :D)

Ahaha, that's so cool!! Did you have to use waste canvas to get them stitched on?

Thanks - it's much different working with something that doesn't already nice little holes in it - but going back to Aida, even 28 count Aida, is like stitching heaven now :yahoo:

Thanks! Yep, I used 18 count waste fabric. At first I was upset that it didn't come in 22 count, because I had originally wanted them a bit smaller on the shoe, but after working with canvas shoes and 18 count I'm really really glad I couldn't find 22 count!

On the inside I used a sew on / iron on patch and did both to it, I'm hoping that will prevent rub on the back of the stitches.

That's a very cool idea, how did you ever get the idea to cross stitch on shoes? I love it!
