Thank you all! By circley things, I'm assuming you mean the clear things? They are made out of unshrunken shrink plastic cut into washer shapes and slid in place before putting the stalk on the head.

The goat (both versions) is adorable! Great work as usual.

So, I have a possibly dumb question, since I'm not a cross-stitcher (yet): Do you buy blank dolls and stitch your patterns on them? Or do you make the dolls? How do they work? I've been so intrigued by them. It just seems like some sort of magic.

I designed them so that they are stitched flat like a normal piece of cross stitch. Except it is a bunch of pieces. For example a doll is 6 pieces on one piece of fabric. When the cross stitch part is done, I cut out the pieces and seal the edges of the fabric, aida frays really quickly. Then I hand sew them together making sure not to show the bare aida.

When I design something different, like the goat or the cats, I make a muslin version first. I do that to get the body shape right and then use that as my pattern to draw in my cross stitch program. Often I'll draw details like eyes, nose and mouth on the muslin so I know where they should be when I'm drawing the pieces as cross stitch.

I hope this makes sense.

The Second Doctor is done. I'm more than half way through with them. I stitched him in color, but also designed a black and white version.

Adorable! He's one of my favorite Doctors. *hands the widdle Doctor a recorder*

I think my only critique is that I would have probably gone more with a black tone for his hair. I know it was in black and white and all that, but even in the color shots it appears to me to be more black than brown. *shrugs* But that's just me.
