Finished Projects & WIP

Post by stitchylizzy »

Hello all :) This is my first post even though I have been trolling for quite a while. I am 21 year old college student who lives in Florida. The following projects are from the book Twisted Stitches so I can't share the patterns. You should pick up the book though: it is awesome!

This is a blood stain pattern on a t-shirt made for my bf at the time.

This one is a Day of the Dead skull I put on a tank top for my sister.

This is a WIP: a zombie girl portrait. She is in bad need of some more hair lol

Very interesting thing to stitch, a bloodstain. What I wonder is if from a decent distance if wearing that shirt out in public whether people would think it were a real bloodstain. Maybe it wouldn't be that convincing, but it look pretty nasty.

I have that book, its great :) I'm just about to start the Day of the Dead skulls

Its great to see some of them stitched up, and I like how you put them onto shirts, I may have to rethink just framing mine.

I would definately recommend using soluble canvas and not waste canvas. When I removed the waste canvas it kind of warped some of my stitches. Also, if you do a t-shirt don't use something too stretchy because that messed me up too. Post a picture when you're done! I'd love to see it.

Thanks for the tip. Ive started one on plain aida while I try to think of other things to stitch on. All my shirts tend to be dark stretchy material, so I'm thinking perhaps onto a bag instead. Will post pics if I get that far :)
