Super Mario Bday time

So my kiddo wanted a Super Mario Party for his 5th birthday and I figured this crowd would appreciate what we did for his love of all things Mario.
The cake may not win any awards but hopefully everyone can get what we were trying to pull off.
These were the cupcakes that we sent to school. Loved watching a bunch of 5 year old boys explain Mario items to the teacher.
Very tasty chocolate mustache (or moo-stache as my kids like to say)
And the fun with food continues
Yoshi eggs for a party game that we didn't play so we just gave them to kids.
The Bob-omb was for another party game that we thought of but didn't play. The kids each got a Yoshi or mushroom along with a bunch of chocolate coins in their loot box.
Here's another shot of the Bob-omb. I modified the Kirby tutorial that I found here
http://blog.seremeres.com/?p=5. Thinking of trying a Chain Chomp next.

Thx. The birthday boy's smile is why my hubby keeps helping me do crazier and crazier cakes every year.

He loved his cake. We were just relieved that Plan B turned out as well as it did. We were original going to decorate the cake with figurines we'd ordered and some of the items from their Mario Kart set but the figurines got lost in the mail. Replacements didn't make it in time.

Both of my kids had a blast at the party. Since they got to keep the Bob-omb, the new game at our house is to sneak up on someone, crack em with the Bob-omb while yelling BOOM!!!
