Sprite Stitch Board!

Every year at easter I compulsively save my easter foil thinking 'it is so pretty! I will make something awesome with this' But after a few months of getting in my way it usually ends up in the bin. However this year I actually did something!

sorry for the image links, but it is late here in aus and I can't be bothered doing it properly... maybe tomorrow.

I did it by cutting up a bunch of 1cm squares from food boxes (a taco kit and a box of crackers) and then covering them with foil from my easter eggs before sticking them down with double sided tape. I didn't get any black easter eggs, so I just used black card for the black pixels.

What do people think?

Ooh, I always saved Easter egg foil like a magpie...but like you would get rid of them after a while. Now I know what to do next time!

You strange people and your foils. Our bunnies dye our eggs, or just give us horrible unrecyclable hinged plastic eggs.

Speaking of horrible hinged unrecyclable plastic eggs there is another choice for 'em. Upcycle! I found that lots of folks use real eggs for embroidery. Then I found someone who uses plastic eggs to do the same thing. It's time consuming since you have to put all the holes in and seal the egg shut and all that, but is pretty stuff.

But now I want Easter foil. Too pretty.
