They are sticker labels. The backing is 1/4" foam board, and I used an epson ink jet printer on "Best Photo" quality for the colors. I was skeptical at first about the sticker peeling off over time with humidity but they adhesive is quite strong, if I made a mistake and had to pull a sticker up, it would usually take some of the foam board topping with it. I'm hoping this will last for a long time. I've thought about doing some soft of lamination, but idk about that.

i want to make something like this out of 1" colored bathroom tile. Would be much heavier and harder to hang on the wall though. However, it would have that cool 3d pixelated effect, which is just as good as a flat look like this, just different.

That would make an awesome floor tile thing! Darn it... Too many diy home improvment tv shows with Grampa lol

I'm always impressed by projects like this. How do you figure out the right colors to use? I'd love to do something similar, but on a smaller scale. I'd just have no idea how to choose/print the correct colors for anything. Any tips?
