Sprite Stitch Board!

So I downloaded the KG Chart freeware and have been able to import a few images to turn into cross stitch charts. But I'm having a problem importing pics that I've recently saved to my desktop. Anyone else have this problem? I've found some pics online that I'd like to try to make but the program always stops responding and then closes. Any advice is much appreciated!

What file formats are the images, and how big are they X,Y and KB/MB?

The most recent one I tried was a jpeg image 11.3KB and 309x163. That one didn't work but I tried another one that was pretty much the same size and that one worked fine...

Hmm maybe there is a part of the JPEG standard KG Chart doesn't handle.

Have you tried opening them in something like paint and resaving them, or save it as a png and try importing the png version?
