When I was little dad built me a dollshouse, a small 4 rooms and an attic affair. When I got bigger I had more things to put in it he built an extension. He saw a rather nice one that some friends did, and of course had to do one better. Its now has the original part repainted and decorated, and a lower part with a kitchen (tiled in blue and white), two formal rooms with carpet and wall paper, a large living room with nice floor and wallpaper and an entrance hall (tiled) with staircase and banisters. He painted the walls with magnetic paint before papering them so that magnets are now picture frames, and wired it up so that the lights can work (sometimes). He also built a garden/conservatory extensions with a tree and a greenhouse. Mum also shares it and she went crazy making minature plants and furniture for it, and its still an ongoing thing between mum and I to make/buy things for it :) Its currently in storage but I will find some where to set it up next time I'm at my parents place.
This sounds amazing! I love dollhouses and anything miniature. It's so nice that it was a family affair. You must have some pretty awesome parents. The rug that you just made is so beautiful and detailed. I would love to see pics of your whole doll house! I'd like to do something similar when my daughter gets a little bigger. :D
