Zelda Stained Glass Complex version

Post by Krysta »

Hello everybody,

A couple of months ago I first found this pattern here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2088
and I thought it was so beautiful, I decided to someday stitch it myself. The first of January this year I figured what the hey, and just started it. I am making this on 18 ct aida and I am hoping to have completed it somewhere at the end of spring. Since in that pattern topic (which is in the wrong forum btw) a lot of people really loved the pattern, I was kind of hoping somebody else would also do this one, but I haven't found it. I have found a topic by Celebriwen here: viewtopic.php?f=3&t=2437&st=0&sk=t&sd=a but it is not the exact same version, though also very pretty and I hope to see it finished someday.

This is the collection of colors I have for this project. As you can see it's alot.

And this is what I have so far.

Hopefully I will remember to give an update every sunday or every other sunday. I work part-time so I have loads of time, but I am also a gamer and thus will spend a lot of time with that too.
One last thing, if you find any spelling errors in my posts, please forgive me, English is not my first language.

I look forward to the updates! That's an amazing project to take on. Oh, and you're forgiven for any spelling errors. You do quite well.

I've update the first post with another WIP. The single stitches are getting on my nerves, but the rest of the pattern should have less of those.
Thanks for the nice replies. :D

It looks really good so far - I love this pattern and would love to someday do either the complex version like you are doing or the simplified one celibriwen is working on. Great progress, keep at it!

I've made another update to the first post. It's not much progress. The single stitches were getting to me this week, so it's been hard to keep at it. However, now that it looks better everytime I add another single stitch, it does make me want to finish it. So this week will probably have more progress.

I've been stitching all week for an average of about 2 hours a day, though it doesn't show that really. It's because there were more single stitches to be filled in. I have tried to change it up a little sometimes by stitching some other part which has more. like the hair and the red and blue border. Happy that it does look really good, makes all the effort worth while. Hopefully next update will have all those little single stitches filled out and I'll be able to make more progress on bigger pieces.

This is going to be gorgeous when its done. Too grand for me, I'd never tackle anything with that many colors.

Is that ink on the material? If so, does it come off easily?
