For those of us in the UK, you can buy these cases from firebox.com.
It wasn't too difficult, though the plastic is definitely a little harder to stitch on than fabric. I used two strands of thread and didn't have any problems finishing the back. Here's a pic of what the back of mine looks like.

Also, thankyou for reminding me about these cases, I had a 3g and was sad that I couldn't get a needlepoint one, but now I've upgraded...! :P

I'm SO glad you found this! I didn't even know the iPhone ones existed, but as soon as I saw them, I was super jealous that I don't have one, but this takes that jealousy away just a bit.
